Our new site located at 680 Broadway, Suite 506, Paterson, New Jersey 07514, is staffed with some of our hospital’s highly qualified, caring physician specialists, who will serve the needs of our local community members in a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment.

 

Newly renovated, the former Barnert Hospital location will feature Rutgers New Jersey Medical School physicians providing care in nephrology, general surgery, endocrinology, cardiology, rheumatology and gastroenterology. Like the hospital’s main campus, Bergen New Bridge’s satellite location will follow all CDC guidance with frequent cleaning, disinfection, masking, temperature and respiratory illness and travel screenings.

Arshia Abbasi, MD, is board certified by the American Board in Internal Medicine with Nephrology board certification as well. She received her Bachelor’s degree from St. Peter’s University and Master’s degree from Rutgers University in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. She was accepted at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she stayed for her Internship/Residency in Internal Medicine



She worked as a Hospitalist for two years at Ocean Medical Center in Brick before going back for her Fellowship in Nephrology at Rutgers University Hospital.  She was a part of private practice in Nephrology for 3.5 years before joining Rutgers – Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.



Examples of disorders Dr. Abbasi manages includes but are not limited to: kidney diseases, hypertension, kidney stone prevention, kidney transplantation, electrolyte disorders, and dialysis.

Pieusha Malhotra, MD, MPH, is board certified by the American Board in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She received her rheumatology training in Providence, Rhode Island, covering three hospitals: Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital, Roger Williams Medical Center, and Veterans Administration Medical Center. She completed her internal medicine training and Masters of Public Health from St Vincent Hospital and the University of Massachusetts, respectively.



She is working as Assistant Professor, Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine at Rutgers–NJMS, and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center — a Clinical Affiliate of Rutgers for the last two years. Her clinical interests include general rheumatology and musculoskeletal ultrasound. Her research interests include the field of epidemiology of rheumatic diseases. She has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathy, crystal arthropathies — gout/ pseudogout, psoriatic arthritis; systemic connective tissue diseases, such as lupus, scleroderma/Raynaud’s disease, Sjogren’s syndrome, myositis, polymyalgia rheumatica, vasculitis; musculoskeletal disease, including bursitis, tendonitis, fibromyalgia; and rheumatic diseases in pregnancy.

Dustin Cummings, MD, MPH, is a clinical assistant professor at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Department of Surgery. He received his BS, MD, and MPH from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He completed his general surgical residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He went on to complete a minimally invasive foregut/Bariatric Surgery fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle.



Dr. Cummings is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has published peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and delivered presentations at national conferences. His academic interests include surgical education and surgical quality improvement. His clinical interests include benign esophageal disease, gastro-esophageal disease, and bariatric surgery.

Dr. Seyedehsan Navabi currently serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine and as a member of the gastroenterology and hepatology faculty at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.



He completed his medical degree (MD) at the Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 2008. After his graduation, Dr. Navabi worked as a family physician and emergency medicine physician until 2012, when he moved to the United States. Dr. Navabi continued his training in internal medicine residency and then in a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the Pennsylvania State University, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He is also board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.



His main interests are inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal motility disorder. However, he also routinely manages and sees patients with general gastrointestinal and liver disorders at University Hospital and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, which includes inpatient and outpatient consults as well as endoscopic procedures.



Dr. Navabi has been active and involved in multiple research activities, and this includes multiple publications and national and international presentations in the field of hepatology as well as inflammatory bowel disease. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Association of Study of the Liver Disease, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and Islamic Republic of Iran Medical Council.

Nadire Dzhalturova, DO, is board certified by the American Board in Internal Medicine with Endocrinology board certification. Dr. Dzhalturova graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Her residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology took place at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn , NY. Dr. Dzhalturova currently works in Rutgers – Bergen New Bridge Medical Center as an endocrinologist. She diagnoses and treats hormone-related disorders and imbalances caused by malfunctioning endocrine glands, helps patients who have diabetes, obesity, hyper/hypothyroidism, cholesterol problems, and cancers of the endocrine glands.

Kalia Skeete-Jackson, MD, is a physician specialist at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, New Jersey, and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. She completed her medical degree at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, earning both Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees. She went on to residency training in internal medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She completed an additional year as chief resident in the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Department of Medicine, at the University Hospital of Brooklyn. Dr. Skeete-Jackson then completed a fellowship in adult cardiovascular diseases at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She practices as a non-invasive cardiologist. 



Dr. Skeete-Jackson is board certified in adult echocardiography by the American Society of Echocardiography and board-certified in nuclear cardiology by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Her interests include preventive cardiology and medical education. She is dedicated to patient care.
