Pfizer Booster

Now Available Pfizer COVID-19 Booster 

CDC recommends:

  • people 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series,
  • people aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series,
  • people aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks, and
  • people aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.

Third Doses of the Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines for Moderately and Severely Immunocompromised People (Not a booster)

The qualifications for third doses of vaccine are currently:

 

For Immunocompromised Patients– All ages with either Pfizer or Moderna vaccine

 

Additionally, people are currently recommended for a third dose who received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine 6 months ago or longer, and are either

  • over age 65, or
  • live in a residential facility, or
  • work in a high risk setting for COVID, or
  • are age 50-64 and have one of the following medical conditions:
    • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
    • Obesity with BMI≥30
    • Serious heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathy
    • Sickle cell disease
    • Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Additionally, people may get the vaccine if they are age 18-49 and received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine 6 months ago or longer and have one of the following medical conditions:

COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Bergen County residents age 18 years and older have the option to schedule vaccination appointments at the Bergen County vaccination site, located at the Alternate Care Facility Annex on the campus of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, by calling 201.967.4070

As new appointments are made available, you may register and schedule a COVID-19 Vaccination at the Alternate Care Facility Annex located at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center if you are a Bergen County resident or worker. Further, a registrant must qualify according to the New Jersey Department of Health’s guidelines:

  • As of Monday, April 19th, all individuals aged 16 and older will be eligible for vaccination. Though 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds are now eligible, we cannot provide the vaccine at this time. Our vaccination site currently receives the Moderna vaccine, and only vaccination sites with the Pfizer vaccine can vaccinate those under 18.
