Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans will experience a mental health condition in a given year? Mental Illness is prevalent through our society — chances are that if you don’t have a mental illness, you know someone who does.
Mental illness is a disease that does not discriminate. It can affect anyone and it cannot be prevented. And yet — there is a ton of stigma around it.
Through various programs we offer, we hope to educate others about running for mental health, raise mental health awareness, provide encouragement to others, and help people experiencing hardship get started in their running journey.

Emergency Department Renovation Project
The Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Emergency Department Renovation Project is driven by the growing needs of our region. In this unprecedented time, our community hospital was at COVID-19 ground zero. At the start of the pandemic and again during this surge, Bergen County has some of the highest numbers of COVID-19 cases. Every hospital in our area has suffered a financial hardship as a result of the pandemic and we are no exception. This health crisis made it clear that we needed to expand our Emergency Department to be able to treat highly infectious diseases and still manage mental health emergencies. Given the highly contagious nature of COVID-19, we need to be able to separate the COVID positive patients from the patients without COVID or its symptoms as well as accommodate the increased volume of patients that are suffering from the mental health and substance use epidemics fueled by the pandemic.
Project Goal: To provide enhanced functionality and improve access to lifesaving emergency medical and mental health and substance use disorder treatment services by renovating approximately 1200 SF of existing space in the current footprint of the Emergency Department and approximately 12,000 SF of space in the Behavioral Health Division in order to add a new Behavioral Health Emergency Department walk-in entrance, registration area, and triage area.
With your support, we will enhance and expand our emergency capabilities to ensure we can meet the growing needs of our diverse communities.
Our first ever Virtual Golf Tournament was a remarkable success, surpassing all goals in this unprecedented event! While donations continue to be received, net proceeds are expected to exceed $71,000! Thank you to our sponsors and participants. We truly appreciate your generosity and hope to resume our traditional tournament next year.
Please know your generosity and support is greatly appreciated and makes a tremendous difference to your neighbors and the communities we serve!
