Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis is the term used to describe an individual struggling with substance misuse and an underlying mental health disorder. Dual diagnosis treatment is an integrated, coordinated approach to substance abuse and mental health interventions for individuals with co-occurring disorders. At Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, our multidisciplinary team of clinicians works together under one roof to provide you with patient-centered, seamless services ranging from holistic therapy to social skills training with a consistent approach.
Through dual diagnosis treatment in Bergen New Bridge, your loved one receives treatment for mental health disorders, physical ailments, and addictions. One of our specialists will assess physical, nutritional, emotional, and cognitive needs during the initial intake. Then, we will design an individualized treatment plan for their needs.
Our dual diagnosis treatments may use different therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral or trauma therapy, to enhance the treatment. Group meetings also help provide feedback, advice, and support during recovery. Meanwhile, family therapy allows your loved one to get the support they need to stay sober after their treatment is complete.
Dual Diagnosis Acute Partial Hospitalization
This outpatient program is held Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. We work with you to promote your mental health and sobriety through group sessions led by our experienced clinicians and nurses. Our psychiatrist will oversee all aspects of your care and be available for your medication management needs. You will be assigned a treatment coordinator to facilitate your care and work with you to develop a meaningful discharge plan. The duration of care usually is 6 to 8 weeks and is based on your clinical needs.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the Outpatient Department
We offer MAT services for qualified patients, such as Vivitrol or Suboxone. Groups are held with our MAT services to provide additional support and build a sober-based network.
