Evergreen Intensive Outpatient Program

“Deep Roots, Strong Recovery”

Evergreen trees are known for their resilience and ability to thrive through all seasons. The Evergreen Outpatient Program aims to nurture patients’ ability to grow, adapt, and remain steadfast in their recovery journey, regardless of external circumstances.

Our team builds recoveries on solid foundations, much like the deep roots of evergreen trees that endure through every season. By fostering resilience, connection, and personal growth, we empower individuals to establish stability and flourish in their recovery journey. Our program provides a structured and compassionate environment where growth and strength take root and thrive for those who don’t require residential treatment but need more support than traditional outpatient care.

We are licensed by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) as a co-occurring program, ensuring high-quality, integrated care for individuals managing mental health and substance use challenges.

Who We Serve

Our program is for adults who are ready to address their substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges in a supportive, therapeutic environment. Whether transitioning from a higher level of care or seeking an alternative to inpatient treatment, Evergreen IOP is here to support you on your journey toward healing.

Program Hours

The treatment team, including the patient, the patient’s Licensed/Certified Counselors, and our Board-Certified Addiction Psychiatrist, will determine how many days a week and how long a patient will attend the program. Evergreen IOP begins with a minimum of nine hours of treatment a week.

We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate diverse needs, with both day and evening tracks available:

  • Day Track: Mondays through Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Evening Track: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • Alumni Group: Fridays 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM

We host a dedicated group for alumni every Friday to provide continued support and connection during recovery.

Length of Treatment

The Intensive Outpatient Program lasts approximately six months, starting three times weekly for the first four months. At the end of four months, the treatment team assesses the patient. If appropriate, the patient will step down into a less intensive treatment program.

Step down consists of approximately one month of attending two group sessions and one individual session weekly, plus attending 12-step meetings or community groups for additional support as needed.

The treatment team will reassess patients after a month; if sufficient progress is made, they will begin aftercare.

Aftercare consists of one weekly group session for one hour, one weekly individual session, and the option of attending 12-step meetings for the remainder of treatment as additional support.

Standard Outpatient Level of Care Services are available if determined appropriate during the intake assessment. The treatment team will discuss these services to establish a relevant group and individual treatment schedule.
