How the Medications Work

Medications for Substance Use Disorders (MSUDs) bind with the nerve receptors involved in generating cravings and urges, reducing the risk of relapse. We offer the following options:

  • Buprenorphine (Sublocade®, Brixadi®, Suboxone®, Subutex®) helps prevent opioid withdrawal symptoms and reduce craving.
    • Multiphase treatment with take-home prescriptions or
    • Long-acting injectable options that provide support based on your needs
  • Naltrexone (Vivitrol®) A non-narcotic, non-addictive medication designed to help prevent relapse with Alcohol or Opioids.
    • Daily pill versions or monthly injections provide ongoing security and confidence without the need for weekly office visits or daily dosing.
  • Acamprosate (Campral®) reduces the desire to drink alcohol
  • Disulfiram (Antabuse®) causes unpleasant effects when the recipient consumes even small amounts of alcohol.

More Than Just Medicine

Our multidisciplinary team of clinicians, medical professionals, and addiction psychiatrists work with you to create a personalized recovery plan based on your goals.

Our clinicians use evidenced-based therapies, including Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to meet patients where they are in their recovery journey, develop coping skills, and elicit change in thought patterns and behaviors that lead to relapse.
