Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. Recovery is a specialized program designed for adolescents aged 13-17 who are seeking support and guidance in overcoming challenges related to alcohol, drugs, substance misuse, and addiction. Our program offers various levels of care to address the unique needs of each participant:
- Early intervention: 1.5 hours of group sessions once per week for 4–8 weeks.
- Intensive outpatient treatment: 6 hours per week for approximately four months.
- Spanish language outpatient treatment: 1.5 hours of group sessions once weekly.
- Adolescent day treatment (partial hospitalization program): 5 hours of group sessions Monday through Friday for four to eight weeks.
- Aftercare: Once weekly for approximately four weeks.
The evaluation process for Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. is designed to serve as a comprehensive substance use assessment, offering a wide range of services to adolescents and their families. Before admission, a thorough evaluation is conducted, focusing on challenges related to substance misuse, emotional and behavioral needs, family functioning, and school performance. Our Center's group treatment model is designed to benefit most adolescents needing acute behavioral health interventions and support, providing a comprehensive approach to their recovery.
Teen Thrive has a licensed psychiatrist to assess psychiatric challenges, potential substance use disorders, medical comorbidities, and other psychosocial factors to develop an individual treatment plan for your child.
At Teen T.H.R.I.V.E., we genuinely understand the importance of family involvement in the recovery journey. We recognize addiction as a challenge that affects not only the individual but the entire family unit. We actively engage family members in the recovery process, fostering a supportive environment that discourages future substance abuse and promotes healthy coping skills and behaviors. By building self-esteem and fostering mutual respect, our program empowers participants to embrace a drug-free lifestyle and positive coping mechanisms, making the family an integral part of the recovery process.
Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. is a co-occurring program licensed by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. We offer sessions on the following schedule:

Our Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. program supports teens ages 13 to 17 facing substance use and mental health issues. Our Acute Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers intensive care while allowing teens to stay home. As the only PHP in Bergen County that accepts Medicaid and Charity Care, our services are accessible while providing comprehensive care that ensures recovery and well-being without requiring inpatient treatment.
We have a vaping cessation program for teens aged 12 to 18. Our goal is to raise awareness about the dangers of vaping and help teens resist cravings and peer pressure while promoting healthy coping strategies and personal responsibility.
The Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. team is deeply committed to involving families in the recovery process. We ensure open, collaborative communication with community agencies and treatment centers, forming a strong network to facilitate a successful recovery journey for every participant. This commitment to communication and collaboration is a cornerstone of our program, providing parents with the confidence that their child is receiving the best possible support.
