Provides essential knowledge and practical skills in the assessment and management of soft tissue injuries, including bleeding control and wound care. Emphasizing both foundational principles and current best practices, this course covers types of wounds, bleeding classifications, infection prevention, and appropriate treatment interventions in the prehospital setting.

Participants will learn to identify life-threatening hemorrhage, apply direct pressure, use pressure dressings, pack wounds, and properly apply tourniquets in accordance with NJ EMT scope of practice. The course also explores special considerations such as avulsions, amputations, impaled objects, and burns. Case scenarios and hands-on training will reinforce clinical decision-making under pressure.
