Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Foundation Hosts Inaugural Legacy Award Event

The Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Foundation hosted its first Legacy Award event which honored Dr. Mohammad Iqbal for his more than 60 years as a practicing psychiatrist and his immense contributions to the Medical Center and its prestigious Psychiatry Residency Program.
“How fitting it is to celebrate Dr. Iqbal during mental health awareness month,” said Deborah Visconi, President and CEO of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. “I’d like to thank all our mental health professionals for the lifesaving work they do every day and, to Dr. Iqbal, thank you for changing the face of mental health, creating a focus on education, and ensuring the future of psychiatry. Your dedication and expertise set the foundation for our Medical Center’s leadership in mental health and the growth and success of our psychiatry residency program.
Dr. Iqbal is a pioneering psychiatrist whose specialties include both psychiatry and neurology. He graduated from Dow Medical College in 1963 and is Director Emeritus of the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Psychiatry Residency Program. He is an American Psychiatry Association Distinguished Fellow and a member of New Jersey Psychiatry Association. Dr. Iqbal was a member of the American Association of Director Residency Training Program for more than 30 years.
