Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Selected for CIANJ & COMMERCE Magazine Companies That Care Award

The Medical Center won in the Volunteering & Community Service category

The Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) and COMMERCE Magazine celebrated and recognized companies across New Jersey who gave back to their communities at its 2024 Companies That Care Award Ceremony. Bergen New Bridge Medical Center was honored in the Volunteering & Community Service category. The Medical Center’s Community Health Team was recognized for their outreach work directly in the communities served by the hospital.

“We are dedicated to improving health equity and addressing the disparities that exist for many of those we serve,” said Deborah Visconi, President & CEO, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. “This award acknowledges us as a leader, bringing together our community partners to collaborate and expand all of our collective efforts to provide accessible services and support to all who need them.”

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center was one of only eight hospitals in the country to receive The Joint Commission’s Health Care Equity Certification. This certification puts a spotlight on the work the outreach teams do on behalf of the Medical Center.

The Medical Center’s Community Health Team was recognized with a Companies That Care Award for their work providing education, health screenings, and more to those who have been traditionally underserved. In the last year, the team participated in Project Homeless Connect, worked with Buddies NJ for STI testing and vaccinations for at risk members of the LGBTQ+ community, forged a new partnership with the Diabetes Foundation for education and health screenings, worked with the NAACP on their health fair, food distributions, outreach to veterans and provided services to underserved students at Felician University.

“Congratulations to all our winners for going above and beyond in giving back to their communities and for the crucial work they do,” said Anthony Russo, President, CIANJ. “We are always happy to host this awards ceremony every year, acknowledging the good works of our companies and the real difference they make.”
