Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Launches Osso Nurse Training Virtual Reality Program to Support Nurse Onboarding

New Jersey’s largest hospital adopts VR training technology to support nurse onboarding and expand hands-on procedural practice

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, New Jersey’s largest hospital, has launched Osso Nurse Training, an innovative virtual reality training platform which nurses at all stages of their career build critical skills.

“Bergen New Bridge is at the forefront of an innovative technology that will revolutionize the way nurses are trained to provide essential high-quality care for all those we serve,” said Deborah Visconi, President & CEO, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. “This training tool innovates the way nursing education operates and prepares our nursing team for the future. Healthcare providers must embrace technology that improves care and that is what we are doing here at the Medical Center.”

The addition of Osso Nurse Training reflects Bergen New Bridge’s commitment to advancing innovative training approaches which support care teams and the communities they serve. Developed by immersive healthcare training company Osso VR, the platform provides more opportunities for hands-on repetition and skill development through guided and independent virtual reality training experiences. Nurses can practice high-frequency procedures, including IV insertion and central line dressing changes.

“We’re incredibly excited to support Bergen New Bridge’s investment in the next generation of nurses entering practice,” said Heather Gervais, CEO of Osso VR. “Organizations willing to rethink traditional training models are helping shape the future of workforce development in healthcare, contributing to stronger clinical readiness and better care at the bedside. We’re proud to be their partner in it.”

In 2025, America’s Essential Hospitals, the leading association for hospitals dedicated to high-quality care for all with over 400 members serving underserved communities across the country, partnered with Osso VR to help member hospitals expand access to immersive procedural training and support new approaches to nurse onboarding and clinical education. Through its membership in the association, Bergen New Bridge is among the first essential hospitals advancing immersive training technology as part of its nurse onboarding and workforce development efforts.

”Our partnership with Osso VR has given our members access to an innovative training solution that has proven to be both cost-effective and more accurate than traditional training methods,” said Jennifer DeCubellis, president and CEO of America’s Essential Hospitals.
